Call Me Kristen Each of us in Door of Hope wears a circular pendant around our neck inscribed with ŇFaith, Family, FriendsÓ which symbolizes the things most important in our lives. Those three things, along with the added gift of music, sum up my life. Faith in Jesus Christ is the foundation of my life and gives purpose and meaning to all I am and all I do. As a wife, mother, sister, daughter, worship leader, piano teacher, singer, songwriter, runner, Harley rider, and Door of Hope band member I wear a lot of hats. But ultimately, it is my faith in Jesus that gives me the strength, hope, peace, and joy to make it through this life and accomplish all that God has for me to do and be. Family is, well, the heart and soul of my life. I have a wonderful husband Steve, and three sons; guitarist extraordinaire Christopher, x-country runner & future theologian (& quite possibly future President of the United States) Daniel, and our Haitian angel Stanley, adopted from Haiti in 2002. Throw in a hyper Chihuahua puppy named Harley Davidson (after my husband's 2nd love sitting in the garage) and it all makes life, hmmmmm... interesting and full. They all keep me busy, humble, grounded, laughing, crying, questioning my sanity at times, but ultimately bring me incredible joy. Friends are icing on the cake. Everyone needs a good friend and I have been blessed with 4 wonderful girlfriends - my Door of Hope sisters Mardi, Michelle, Heidi and Marsha. What an honor and privilege it is to have such beautiful talented, faithful, somewhat neurotic, & hysterically funny Godly girlfriends to partner in ministry with. That five strong women can work so closely together and still love each other is a testament to God's bountiful grace. He is the glue that holds our bond of friendship together and the reason for our ministry. Music has been a part of my life as far back as I can remember and music and ministry are now inseparable for me. I released a solo CD, Through His Eyes in 2002 yet I found I did not want to sing my songs alone and prayed for God to bring other musicians with the same passion for ministry with whom I could partner. God abundantly answered my prayers by bringing into my life 4 other women musicians - my Door of Hope sisters. It is such a blessing to collaborate with these women of faith in singing and offering our songs to those that so desperately needs to hear the Gospel message of hope, grace, peace, joy and love.
